Located just 35 miles east of Billings Montana and just a mile off of Interstate 90 (exit 35), in the little community of Pompey's Pillar is the home of GREEN STAR BABY DOLLS.

My husband, Wendell, and I have been involved with sheep off and on all our lives. When we retired a few years back we wanted something to fill in our time so we wouldn't get old and lazy. We decided on sheep. Did I say something about lazy? When we started looking for a name for our sheep operation we realized we had the perfect name. My grandfather homesteaded in southeastern Montana in 1917. He raised sheep and, at that time, everything was open range. Sheep owners branded their stock with colored paint. Grandfather's brand was a green 5 pointed star which we still hold ownership of with the livestock registry of Montana. We wanted something different from the usual breeds found in the mid-west so we settled on the Olde English Southdown (AKA Baby Dolls) and GREEN STAR BABY DOLLS was born.

We blossomed rapidly and now have 20 prime head of ewes and half that many rams. We have both black and white and are striving to reach a total RR genotype with the black and white being exclusive for color. Therefore we are breeding white to white and black to black to reach a true black and true white color genetic for our sheep to coincide with the RR genotypes.

We offer all of our stock at $500 a head regardless of color or age. We will offer bred ewes this fall at $850 a head and weathers for companion or slaughter will be $300. All of our sheep are NABBSAR registered with a few being double registered with Old English Baby Dolls.
